The mail database is very complicated...

...but that's largely because of sending mail and processing calendar entries and all the different kinds of sorting and tie-ins to the Java composite app code and logos and stationery. You don't need to copy the entire mail file design for an application which involves just viewing the memos and applying one function to them. I would probably start from scratch.

How the SQL part happens is pretty much open. I might use one or more folders to drag finished stuff into -- that could even be the way to categorize things -- and have a server agent scan the folders periodically.
